Night readable, Self-Powered Micro Gas Lights (3H) are a novel light source that provides superior, long-life brightness, 100 times brighter than standard luminous paint. With a useable life easily reaching 25 years, these Tritium gas tubes shine without charging from the sun or batteries, yet pose no risk to the wearer over the life of the watch. With exceptional craftsmanship, our watchmakers affix every tiny gas light tube on the dials and hands to create the BALL Watch signature appearance. Our designers make use of the various shapes, colors, and sizes of the gas lights to create a unique array of dial styles, including our patented illuminated calendar.
Built with the highest quality standards, every BALL Watch has undergone rigid testing procedures to verify shock, magnetic, and water resistance. A special crown protection system was designed for the Engineer Hydrocarbon series to guarantee its exceptional water resistance up to 1000 meters. This crown protection system also protects the winding stem from damage due to shock, and is unequaled with a shock resistancy of 7500 Gs. By traditional standards, the crown is not considered part of shock testing, but at BALL Watch we make the extra effort to certify that the most sensitive part of the watch is just as durable as the rest of the watch.
